How much can I safely lower my car?
For daily driving, we recommend 1.0-1.5 inches of drop for the best balance of appearance, handling, and ride quality. Larger drops may require bump stop trimming, camber adjustment, and upgraded dampers to avoid harsh ride quality and clearance issues.
Do I need new shocks with lowering springs?
If your current shocks have less than 50,000 miles, quality lowering springs designed for factory dampers will work fine. Higher-mileage shocks should be replaced simultaneously, as they can’t properly control the stiffer spring rates and will wear out quickly.
Will lowering springs void my warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the manufacturer must prove the modification caused the specific failure to deny coverage. Springs from reputable manufacturers with proper installation typically don’t affect unrelated warranty claims. We can discuss specifics for your vehicle.
